Project Description:

The project was aimed at providing a second chance of schooling to those children who have been dropped-out or have never been enrolled in schools, due to child labour, poverty, disability or a mere negligence. The project provides educational facilities through “Accelerated Learning Approach” to the most neglected and vulnerable group of children, along with training in Life Skills, Health and Hygiene and recreational opportunities. The graduating children were mainstreamed into formal schools after completing NFE under the project.


  1. To provide quality, primary, non-formal education to 300 out-of-school, drop-out, working and poorest of the poor boys and girls
  2. To enable 300 out-of-school boys and girls to protect themselves from hazards on the streets through demonstration of effective “Life Skills”
  3. To improve health condition of 300 out-of school boys and girls through provision of “health and hygiene education” and “recreational/sports facilities”
  4. To create awareness on child protection and importance of education through IEC material and awareness seminars.
